Hathcock named DHS Interim Principal
In a called Demopolis City Schools System Board of Education meeting on Dec. 12, current Demopolis Middle School Principal Blaine Hathcock was named as Interim Principal at Demopolis High School effective Jan. 2, 2017 not to exceed six months.
“We needed an interim spot. The community, kids and teachers know Mr. Hathcock. He’s the best fit for what we need to do and he was willing to step up and help us,” said Superintendent Kyle Kallhoff.
With Hatchcock moving to DHS, Rollie McCall, current DMS assistant principal, will assume the role of principle at the middle school on an interim basis and U.S. Jones Elementary teacher Tracey Stewart will serve as assistant principal at the high school.
Kallhoff noted that the middle of the year is not the best time to find a principal and the interim roles will give the system time to find the right person for the DHS principal job.
More information about items voted on in the Dec. 12 BOE meeting will be available in the Dec. 14 print edition of the Demopolis Times.
