Douglas McDaniel Barkley, 72, of Linden died Oct. 27, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Barkley was born March 31, 1944 in Linden to Charles Victor and Lula Barkley. He was a retired welder with Georgia Pacific Corp. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Moore Barkley of Linden; three children, Douglas M. “Daniel” Barkley of Linden, Annette Barkley Hill of Thomasville, and Holt Barkley of Linden; brother, Chalmus Barkley of Linden; sister, Mildred Thrash of Sweet Water; four grandchildren, Keith “Brooke” Barkley, Austin Barkley, Amber Barkley, and Kaelyn Barkley.
He was preceded in death by a son, William T. Barkley; and his parents, Charles Victor and Lula Barkley.
Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Andy Mims and Rev. Pike Smith officiating. Burial was in the Octagon Cemetery in Linden.
Active Pallbearers were Mark Barkley, Scott Barkley, and Glenn Barkley, Larry Nichols, Keith Nichols, and Clinton Crocker Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers were Naheola Credit Union Board of Directors.
