DHS celebrates FBLA-PBL Week

Members of the Demopolis High School Future Business Leaders of America Chapter recently participated in FBLA-PBL Week. The students kicked off the week with members posting their favorite FBLA memory on social media, using #fblapblweek. Member Monday was characterized by each member’s locker featuring custom designs created by the chapter officers. Officers handmade 112 locker decorations and served each member with a special treat during break.

On T-shirt Tuesday each member wore their favorite FBLA t-shirt. Then on Wednesday, which served to be the highlight of the week, was “What do you know? Wednesday” where members played Bingo to test their FBLA knowledge in hopes of winning gift cards valued up to $100 from Malone’s Texaco.

Members also found it rewarding to create a teacher appreciation video that was released on Thankful Thursday showcasing their gratitude for every teacher and staff member.

On Field-Day Friday, members took a trip to the local food pantry, where they unloaded canned food items and helped stock shelves. Members also learned about the service opportunities and how their generosity impacts the community.

Service Saturday challenged members to get outside of their comfort zone and look for opportunities to serve others in their neighborhood. One member reported that he walked a senior citizen’s dog and went grocery shopping for her so that she did not have to get out in the cold weather. What better way to conclude a fabulous week then to participate in an act of kindness as a way to create, lead, and inspire others.
