The Marengo County Sheriff’s Office would like to make the public aware of numerous scams that are going around Marengo County at this time.  Never give any personal or banking information over the phone for anyone trying to update your computer, collect on court fines or serve warrants via phone conversation. The IRS will not contact by phone. If you are ask to purchase gift cards and give the gift card information over the phone it is a scam.  If you have any questions concerning whether or not your situation is a scam please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 334-295-4208 before you take action.
