In the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll, three local teams are ranking in the top-10 in their respective classes.

The Marengo High School girls (14-2) are No. 5 in the Class 1A poll. They started their season 10-0 and got to No. 2 in the poll after the holidays.

The Marengo Academy girls (21-2) are No. 7 in the AISA top-10 poll.

On the boys side, the Linden Patriots (19-1) are the only team ranked in the county. They are No. 5 in the Class 1A poll.
